The Emirates was electric as Arsenal dominated set pieces — their route to both goals. William Saliba opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a powerful header from Bukayo Saka’s corner, assisted by Gabriel’s presence in the box.
Chelsea responded just before halftime when Piero Hincapié unfortunately turned Reece James’ corner into his own net in the 45+2nd minute, leveling the score at 1-1.
The second half brought more drama. Chelsea were reduced to 10 men after Pedro Neto received a red card (around the 70th minute mark in reports), leaving them vulnerable.
Arsenal capitalized ruthlessly. In the 66th minute, Jurriën Timber rose highest to head home Declan Rice’s corner delivery, restoring the lead at 2-1 and proving decisive.
The Gunners held firm through a tense finale, despite Chelsea’s late push (including a disallowed effort). Arsenal’s defensive resilience and dead-ball expertise shone through once again.
