The recent online drama between Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) and philanthropist/content creator King Mitchy (real name Mukoro Michelle) has taken over social media, blending charity work, accusations, and escalating personal attacks.
It all started when King Mitchy, known for her school renovation projects and feeding programs, subtly shaded VDM while showcasing her quick charity efforts. She renovated a school in just days and questioned why VDM hadn’t used the millions donated to his NGO for similar visible impacts, urging him to “get to work.”
VDM hit back hard, accusing her of various things, including alleged connections to high-profile figures like Seyi Tinubu (President Bola Tinubu’s son) for funding, leaking supposed chats (claimed fake by some), and more. The feud intensified with VDM’s supporters (his “Ratels”) reportedly mass-reporting her business pages, leading to some being taken down. King Mitchy cried out about losing income sources and continued dragging VDM, even bringing in unrelated past issues like justice for Mohbad.
Things got messier with name-dropping, denials (King Mitchy refuted getting ₦100M from Seyi Tinubu), threats (VDM alleged life threats tied to the beef), and even warnings from figures like Isaac Fayose to keep traditional rulers like the Ooni of Ife out of it.
The saga took a dark turn when King Mitchy went live on TikTok, reportedly drank a poisonous substance (Hypo bleach or similar), leading to her management announcing her passing despite medical efforts in Abuja. Soon after, VDM posted dramatically about his own “demise” in a similar satirical or mocking style, sparking confusion, memes, and concerns about mental health and clout-chasing.
Some reports mention apologies from King Mitchy earlier (respecting VDM and stepping back), but the online clash spiraled quickly.
This highlights how fast charity rivalries on social media can turn toxic, involving fans, reports, and real emotional/financial harm. It’s a reminder to verify claims and approach online beefs carefully—before things go too far.
